10 Springtime Festivals In Connecticut
Springtime is just around the corner and that means it’s time to enjoy the warmer outdoors with festivals all across the state. Below we’ll list 10 we think are worth the visit.
Located at Hubbard Park in Meriden on April 27th and 28th The Meriden Daffodil Festival is full of exciting rides, unique and creative foods, a juried craft fair, and a fireworks show. All of this happens with a backdrop of 600,000 beautiful daffodils throughout the festival grounds.
Connecticut Sheep, Wool and Fiber Festival
The Connecticut Sheep, Wool and Fiber festival takes place on April 27th at the Tolland County Agricultural Center in Vernon. The event is a family friendly agricultural and learning experience for the general public as well as shepherds and fiber enthusiasts.
Cherry Blossom Festival
Located at Wooster Square Park in New Haven and happening on April 28th, the Cherry Blossom Festival is an annual event celebrating spring with music from jazz to salsa, children's activities, a pet friendly area, exhibitors and food.
Pequabuck River Duck Race
The Bristol Chamber Pequabuck River Duck Race is a family oriented community event sponsored by the Bristol Chamber of Commerce that occurs on May 5th in the Forestville section of Bristol. The day includes the duck race with prizes given to the winners, vendors, and food.
Located at the historic Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington on May 4th and 5th, May Market features exhibitors, rare and unusual plants, entertainment, children’s activities, food and a museum open house.
Hosted by Greenfield Hill Church in Fairfield, the annual Dogwood Festival which occurs on May 10th-12th welcomes visitors to the beauty of this historic area. With activities for all ages, and crafters from around New England, the Festival offers something for everyone.
Celebrate! West Hartford
Happening on June 1st and 2nd, Celebrate! West Hartford offers a wide range of family activities including a highly rated juried arts & crafts show, great food, entertainment, games, carnival rides, and a certified 5K road race and Kids Fun Run.
Little Poland Festival
With leaping folk dancers, live music, arts and crafts, shopping, food, costumed characters, carnival rides and activities for the whole family Little Poland Festival taking place on June 2nd in New Britain is worth the visit.
Fair on the Green
With 120 or more of the east coast's best crafters, fine artists and artisans, the Fair on the Green hosted by Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church will please both vendors and visitors alike. Taking place in Milford on June 7th and 8th in Milford the fair also offers food and live music.
Cheshire Strawberry Festival and Craft Fair
The Cheshire Strawberry Festival and Craft Fair features farm-fresh strawberry shortcake along with grilled foods, handmade crafts, amusements and entertainment for the entire family. The festival is held on the historic Church Green in Cheshire on June 8th.
